The Best Boxing Gym Near the World Trade Center

If you work in the Financial District, you already know: the neighborhood has no shortage of overpriced juice bars, spin studios, and gyms where everyone looks like they were assembled in a lab. What it doesn’t have a lot of is places with soul. Trinity Boxing Club is one of them.
Two Blocks from the World Trade Center
We’re at 20 Vesey Street — a two-minute walk from the World Trade Center, a block from City Hall, and right in the middle of everything downtown. If you work in the area, you can hit a noon class on your lunch break and be back at your desk with time to spare. Sweaty, yes. But sharper than you were an hour ago.
Not Your Typical FiDi Gym
Trinity is an old-school boxing gym. Hand-painted banners. Heavy bags. No smoothie bar. No sauna. No nonsense. We’ve been here since 2004, training everyone from Wall Street traders to artists to first responders to people who just wandered in off Vesey Street because something told them they needed to hit something. We opened our doors the same week we hosted the New York City tryouts for NBC’s The Contender. Sugar Ray Leonard walked in. Sylvester Stallone walked in. We figured if it was good enough for Rocky, it was good enough for us.
What We Offer
Group boxing classes run Monday through Friday at 7am, noon, 5pm, and 6pm, and Saturdays from 8am to 3pm. Every class includes one-on-one pad work with a trainer — that’s not a selling point, that’s the whole philosophy. We also offer private lessons for people who want dedicated coaching, and a youth program for kids. All levels welcome, from complete beginners to experienced fighters.
The Lunch Break Workout
Our noon class is designed for the downtown professional who has exactly one hour to transform from a desk-bound human into someone who remembers they have a body. You’ll throw real combinations, work the heavy bag, drill footwork, and get personal pad time with a coach. Then you’ll shower, eat something, and go back to work feeling like you could negotiate a hostile takeover before 3pm.
How to Get Here
20 Vesey Street, New York, NY 10007. We’re steps from the Fulton Center transit hub, the World Trade Center PATH station, and the E, R, 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C, J, and Z trains. If you can get to lower Manhattan, you can get to us.
We also have a second NYC location at 116 Duane Street in Tribeca, and a Los Angeles gym at 7817 Melrose Avenue.
Call (212) 374-9393, email nyc@trinityboxing.com, or book your first class at trinityboxing.com. Nobody walks into the gym by accident. You were always a fighter. We just remind you how to do it.
