Carl Jung talked about the Shadow - the part of ourselves we suppress and deny. Boxing forces you to look at it.
When you step into the ring, the Persona does not protect you. The Shadow comes out. The fear. The anger. The doubt.
Cus D Amato said fear is your friend. It tells you you are alive. The hero and the coward both feel the same thing. The difference is what they do with it.
At Trinity Boxing Club, we teach the technical side of boxing. But we also teach the mental side. The fight in the ring is always a reflection of the fight inside.
